Where do I start?

I want to make a remote microphone that connects to the computer and records music being played. What I need is a microphone connected to a transmitter and then receiver connected to the computer (I hope I could use the microphone port on the computer on the sound card as to avoid the configurations). Have no idea where to start, what ICs I need or what modulating frequency is better for the project. The microphone should not get any further then 20 m from the receiver and there should not be any walls in between.
