I need some sockets like these(sorry for the blurryness).

I cannot find them on the RS website. Or maplins. Thats not to say they arent there, just I have spent a couple of hours looking and couldnt find them.

Does anyone know where I can buy these and if i need any special tools (ie a crimping tool) to use these.

Thanks in advance for your time.

John

they look exactly the same as the internal connections in a computer, or connections for the battery on a remote control car. Am I right?

maplin sell all sorts of stuff to do with model car batteries, but nothing to do with internal computer connections.

However, look here - https://www.frontx.com - they sell the sockets, the crimps to go in them, and cables with the sockets all ready attached to each end. A little bit overpriced, but delivery is free, and I have had very good experiences with this company.

in particular look at https://www.frontx.com/order_c.html and https://www.frontx.com/order_a.html

Assuming that they are what I think they are, you do not need any speciallist crimping equipmentm only a pair of pliers. Look at https://www.frontx.com/head_con.html and https://www.frontx.com/crimp.html for more details.

hope my assumptions are correct and hope this all helps.

Digikey.com should have them as well. They often have pictures of the parts to so you can make sure your getting the right one.

err, I was looking a while ago, and apart from the remote control car stuff in maplin, I couldn't find anything in the uk. If you can find anything overseas, the £-$ rate is good, and if they have free p&p, you shouldn't have to shell out too much.
