What Type of Contact?

Hi, I've been purchasing some LCDs for a project I'm doing and I encountered a strange contact on one of the displays. I know what the DF9 contacts are as can be seen in the first image, however, the contacts in the 2nd and 3rd image are strange, any idea what they are?

The two connectors in the 2nd and third images look like they accept some kind of flat ribbon cable. Do you have any kind of documentation on these LCDs? It might give some clues as to the type of cable or the pinout of the connectors.
 
That image definitely seems like the sort of thing you'll need.

That pinout specifically mentions using the connector 08-6260-033-340-829. According to the datasheet, this is a receptacle for a 33-pin, 0.5mm pitch ribbon cable.

So that narrows it down quite a bit, actually. Either you will need to track down a cable that goes from DF9 to 33-pin, 0.5mm pitch Flat-Flex Cable (FFC), or you may need to get some kind of DF9 cable connector that can be assembled to the end of a double-ended FFC. Failing that, you might even make up a small adapter board to go between the two, being extra careful to get the pinouts correct, of course!

The contacts are for a flexible printed circuit, which is pretty standard for LCDs. These connectors snap up to release the flexible printed circuit and snap down to make firm contact with the exposed tracks at the ends of the flexible printed circuit.

This interconnection is particularly fragile and, if disturbed, prone to trouble. But once the connection is made correctly the system seems to work reliably.

If the units are old, lightly burnish the exposed printed circuit tacks, where they interface with the connector, with an ink eraser (ink rubber in UK:D)
