1. Program does not notice when it encouters a bug
2. It is quite impossible for a program to jump to some code in RAM so that it could overcome this bug
3. patches are not used in real time.. they are applied offline, before the program is executed.. that is one time deal. There is no "jumping into a patch"
Maybe you are confused between error handling and program patches.
