Wafer SmartCard Types

hi
i would like to know the types of wafer smartcards and what is the diffrence between them.
also what is the deference between mounted smart cards and wafer ones ?
if i have i have some data to put on a gold wafer card, can i use a wafer funcard instead and still work on my satellite receiver ?

just get a smarcard reader/write... tho beware, direct TV is out trying to sue anyone who buys one, even thog ther are some people out ther who dont even own satelite TV and they may get sued.. becarefull, and do do iligal stuff either...
