voltage divider needed

Hey all,
I have a battery source of 1.5V and need 0.5v to run a circuit. the problem is the load has dynamic resistance ( non linear ) and hence a simple potential divider circuit doest work, how else can i achieve it,
previously i used a reverse bias diode, but that was for steady 2.5V how can i get 0.5 volts.

you could still use a 0.5V voltage divider as the input to a buffering op-amp. How much current do you need? Resistive voltage dividers make poor supplies. An even better solution would be to use a .5V reference diode for the op-amp. That way the voltage will remain at .5V even though your battery may drop in voltage (making the voltage divider go below .5V).

Or you could use a diode (or two) in series with the 1.5V and the load to drop the voltage down by 1V. But as the battery dies, the voltage on the load will as well.
