using serial keypad in LAB-1

Hi There,
I purchuse LAB-X1 circuit, I need to using the matrix keypad in this circuit as a serial keypad.
I get one code that indicates the location of the pressed keypad..But i don't need this techique to doing so.
I need a code that will use the keypad as serial switches....and display the number of the switch as it is pressed and then disappear as it's released...
Really I tried a lot to do this program...but because I don't have enough background in this domain..I face to much problems...
In this circuit I am using PIC16F877....
Really I need somebody help....

Have a look at my tutorials - I'm not sure what you mean by 'serial keypad', but I show how to read a HEX keypad with a PIC.
