using diode to strictly control path of 24v ac?

thank you thank you ok lets say I have a relay coil 2000 ohm then how would i size cap and resistor
Use R=120 ohms 1/8W, C=100uF. If the relay is 1k, use R=62 ohms 1/4W, C=100uF is still OK.
If the relay resistance is 500 ohms, use 30 ohms, 1/2W, C=220uF. 100uF will give a lot of ripple, but should still be fine.
