Can anyone please give me the most basic code in C with comments to initialize USART and take USART input??
I need to use it to take input from GPS system.

Can anyone please give me some syntaxes that are necessary to take USART input into PIC18F4550?
For example..
Initializing USART.
Taking input
etc.

The PIC 18F4550 datasheet has a good "USART" chapter that describes how to set up the USART to receive serial data.
