Hello All,
Need help with my design here and a bit of advice...

The thing is I designed this 0-5 Counter which counts perfectly....
**broken link removed**

Now the thing is If I replace it with T flipflop this is type of waveform I get
**broken link removed**

Its going from 0,1,3 and holding at 7:confused:

Could Somebody please explain me the reason for this pattern

KJ

How have you wired the T flipflop into a circuit designed for a D flipflop? Show your diagram with the T flipflop. To make a counter with T flipflops, you would just cascade them into a ripple counter.

Yes sir I did...just replaced the D flipflops with T's....Here's the daigram:

hi,
Look here, it explains the T F/F equation.

It just says flipflops......:confused::rolleyes:
Could you direct me to the exact page please....

Google for: T flip flop and look at the Wikipedia page.

For some reason my first link does not connect correctly.:)

As said before To use T flipflops I will have to cascade them into ripple counter which I am not sure how to do:eek:

hi,
You say you know how to make a ripple cntr using D type F/F's.

Consider making the T type F/F act as a D type.

If you use a dual XOR gate from the Q output of a T type, to couple to the next T type input it will function as a D type.

Ground one pin of the XOR

When you have the T F/F's working as a ripple counter add gates to give a reset on the count of '6'.

OK.?:)

Eric,

This is an example I did....A 4 bit counter using T flipflops
**broken link removed**

It doesn't seem to count though

Try the XOR dual gate connection method.
