ttl/cmos signal level

Does anyone know what the ATmega16 output signal level is? i mean, TTL, CMOS...? I've looked in the datasheet for both signal levels but they're not there.. does that necessarily mean that the chip doesn't output TTL or CMOS signal levels? if yes, how do i find out what type of signal level is output? can i control what type of signal level is output?

I don't use Atmel processors, but I imagine it's exactly the same as a PIC, if you feed the chip off a 5V supply it's TTL compatible, and also CMOS compatible (if the CMOS is fed from 5V as well).
