the BDW83/84 are darlingtons with a rating of 6A to 15A. you can possibly sub that with any darlintons with that same current & voltage rating. i have protoboard that set up using the BDWand it came out alright but it did not pass my standard. i even used the MJ15015/15016, still the same. but am not discouraging you not to build, go ahead
