I am building a small radio and need a MPF 102 FET transistor. Can anyone please indicate which of the following might work:
1. C945P1960
2. BC557A
3. TL 431 CLP 8343
4. E2 N2222 470
5. BF 199 CEB
6. 2N 3819
7. BC 547B V7 E
8. 2N 3904 H32

You tell us.

Look at the datasheets (these can be found using Google) and compare them to the MPF102.

Hint: you need an n-channel jugfet ,nothing elese will do, an NPN transistor won't work and neither will a voltage reference.

tried it. the radio is as dead as a doornail. Then again, I am terrible in this. wil update if managed to get it right. Thanks everyone!

The schematic for the Radio Shack Special regenerative "radio" that you are building shows that either an MPF102 or a 2N3819 FET can be used. An error in the parts list does not list the FET.

If you compare their datasheets then you will see that the pins are in a different sequence.
