Papabravo Well-Known Member Most Helpful Member Apr 24, 2008 #2 Those units don't quite compute. Newton has units of force, and meter has units of length gram has units of mass, cm has units of length The unit of force in the cgs system is the dyne. The unit of torque in the cgs system is the dyne centimeter. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dyne https://online.unitconverterpro.com/conversion-tables/convert-alpha/torque.html

P Pommie Well-Known Member Most Helpful Member Apr 24, 2008 #4 Well to get from Newton Meters to Kilogram Meters we have to divide by gravity. 9.81m/s/s To get from Kilograms to grams we have to multiply by 1000. To get from Meters to CentiMeters we have to multiply by 100. Therefore, to go from Nm to g-cm, we *1000*100/9.81. So, 1Nm = 10190 g cm. Mike. Edit, corrected as per Erics suggestion. ericgibbs Well-Known Member Most Helpful Member Apr 24, 2008 #5 hi Mike From the Calc link: 1 Newton-Meters = 1.01972e4 Gram Centimeters EQUATION: Gram-Centimeters = 1.01972e4 * Newton-Meters Click to expand... Therefore, to go from Nm to g-cm, we *1000*10/9.81. So, 1Nm = 1019 g cm. Click to expand... Last edited: Apr 24, 2008

Isnt it 100cm/mtr.?
