Hi everyone!

I'm running a robotics project where I'm using TMC 2209 drivers to drive a few steppers. Has anyone tested whats the max current the 2209 can drive? One of our axis in our robot seems to be stalling at a supposed 1A while running on 12V so we want to try mitigate it by increasing the current bit we dont want to blow our driver.

Any p is greatly appreciated!! Thanks a lot!

The datasheet says:
Code:
RMS motor coil current per coil (value for design guideline) IRMS 1.4ARMS
motor coil current per coil with duty cycle limit, e.g. 1s on, 1s standby (value for design guideline) IRMS 2.0A
Peak output current per motor coil output (sine wave peak)using external or internal current sensing IOx 2.8A

Looks like you have a little leeway to go higher.
