i'm having trouble with the TCL tv i'm repairing. the power indicator keeps blinking and i have found out that the horizontal output transistor is shorted but i encountered the same symtoms after replacingthe HOT. what could be the possible cause?

Could be many things, but a common cause is a faulty line output transformer.

Does the new HOT go shorted straight away after switch on, or does it take a while?

Maybe I can help here as TCL supplied Tedelex SA with chassis. Was a nice product to repair and work on.

It takes a while before it becomes shorted.
