I am going to be switching a BST4140N smart high side FET on/off to control some LEDs. My question is, how do I know how fast I can turn my FET on and off? Do I just do the following .....

1/(turn on time + turn off time + slew rate to turn on + slew rate to turn off) to get the switching frequency?

I can not imagine any LED being faster than a FET. I would say not worry about it.

The speed of your LED is the limiting factor...
