What did you do to the crystal to ruin it?
 
what i did to fix the problem should have been your question.

yeah it was a tough one.
i would like to start programming , but i got the error shown in my previous post ,

what did i do wrong?
what steps should i do to get this baby working?
 
What sort of program are you trying to load onto it?

It indicated you read from it then erased it then attempted to program.

How long is the programming cable; keep it short.

Also make sure the FIFO buffers are off for the com port.

Yeah i must admit this mplab is harder to use than my old programmer.

i dont know why it did that.
i must have told it to do that. .i dont really know..
i think what i should do is un install it , and start over

oh the cable is approx eight inches long
FIFO buffers are off
