Hello,

I purchased this chip from mouser, 74AC240SJ, it is CMOS Logic SOP-20 Octal Buf/Line Drv. Commonly used in BEAM robotics. This specific chip is SOP-20, very small. I was looking at the data sheet and can't tell if it is static sensitive. Usually CMOS parts are static sensitive right?

The data sheet link of Mouser is here:

would really appreciate some help,

thanks,

George L.

Yes, it is static sensitive but if you keep yourself grounded, or be careful not to pick it up after you have slid into a plastic chair, you should not have a problem. I use anti static tweezers and have not had a problem.
