Hi, everybody. I'm looking for a device of some sorts that would allow me to send SPI, I2C, and UART messages using the USB port of my PC. The purpose is to configure modules (like Zigbees) and ICs (like clock syntheiszers/PLLs) that only really need a one-time configuration settings to be stored in their EEPROM so that whenever they are powered up they just go off and do their job.

DOes anyone know of anything that can handle all 3 protocals? The closest thing I've found is the Keterex USB-910H or the Total Phase Aardvark, but none of these handle UART still. THey also cost a fair amount.

Should handle all your requirements or are you looking for an off the shelf solution?

Off the shelf...it's gonna eat up a lot of time and money for my main project and I hate getting held up by little support projects. I think I've found one though...still pricey, but in all about $250 for everything (two separate UART units and combined I2C/SPI unit).

I think the Hack a Day Bus Pirate would work with this. It's just a simple interface with all of these hardware protocols supported.

I've managed to run the Microchip Serial Analyzer firmware on my Junebug (PICkit2), this makes a really handy I2C, SPI, UART to USB device.
It's not as easy with a genuine PK2 as the SPI pins are not brought out of the case.
