sound on PC

I recently resotred my PC. Now I am not getting any sound. It has motherboard sound card.
Written on CD as "AD1888 Sound MAX" . Using win XP home edition.

I tried to down load drivers from internet. But when I run setup, error comes as no driver found.

Any idea what is the problem is.

try downloading the drivers again. . . make sure you got the drivers for windows xp (though sometimes win NT or win 2000 drivers will work with xp)
best bet is to download from the manufacturers web site (ie. whoever made the motherboard) or go to
www.driverguide.com

though registration (free) is required to download files.
