Solar Panel Power Output DAQ

My group is working on a project that involves measuring of integrated power output of a solar panel. We are just wondering if it is okay to use a fixed resistance instead of a variable resistance. Are there any methods you can suggest on how to measure integrated power output from solar cells?

are you really making solar cell or designing its circuitry for its maximum use of power. and what do mean by integrated power?
