Simple Switch Sequencer

Hi there! I'm hoping to make a circuit that just triggers switches in sequence.
For starters, one after the other, in a fixed order would be just fine.
Everything I can find about sequencers is based on modular ones for use with a single vcf input.

Long Term Goal:
Make a sequencer/mixer. 4 input jacks, meant to carry an audio signal. The jacks followed by volume knobs (most of this I can already build). Then when one of the channels is triggered, you will be able to hear it's audio through the main output for that moment.

My apologies if this isn't clear. In my head, it is VERY clear, so feel free to ask me to elaborate. Thanks!
