Simple RGB Controller Circuit

Hey everyone.

I'm making a simple RGB controller for some LED strip lighting which will simply scroll through the seven basic combinations of colours at the push of a button.

Just need some advice on the circuit.

Because the LED strip lighting has a common negative, is it ok to set up the MOSFETs like this?
And can you recommend some cap values for the regs?

Those aren't logic level mosfet's are they?

Hmm. Can you commend one? Max load is 500mA

hi,
This is a dual NMOS with a logic level Vgs.

If you want to save a regulator and a logic level mosfet, use a high voltage pic. There only exists one in the 16f family though

Your schematic is very bad idea. You must use strip with common positive or you must use different switch than the NMOS.

I'd simply use an ULN array & make my design compact.

I'm not 100% sure what you mean by 'strip'...

Use ULN2003.

Pin 1 to 7 are the inputs.You can connect PIC pins directly to these pins.

Pin 8 is GND.

Pin 10 to 16 are the outputs.Connect common cathode lines from the LED strips to these pins.

Positive supply to the LED stripes will come directly from the power supply.
