OK. Now I've got it. That red wire in parallel with the resistor and LED is keeping the LED from working, but putting an LED in series with your pedal boxes is a foul idea, too. The way to do this is to run the 9V adapter through a switch to the pedal boxes and put the resistor and LED in series with each other, then attach that across the two wires carrying power to the pedals. I've done this before and found that different pedals sometimes have differenf grounds. As soon as you plug in a pedal with reversed ground, it shorts the whole thing. Put a fuse in so you don't smike the adapter if you meet a backwards grounded pedal, and know that if you do meet a backwards grounded pedal, you will need another 9V adapter.
