Scrolling display

I am keen to build a PIC based scrolling display. I was considering using a few (home built!) 5 x 7 matrix. Can anyone guide me as to where to start or any good sites for info?

7x5 dot matrix

I am designing a 24 x 2 display pannel using 7 x 5 units, may be with the 16F877a.
I have some that I do not need, but it will depend on where you are, if you would like them?
