scr dc control circuit

have the scr,s , are wanting to control a resistive load that may vary but at the moment around 80 amps at 100 volts . The scr,s are aeg 1200 volt and nearly 300 amps . Need a circuit that will allow varing control . Have tryed but not 100 % sucessful ....if you can help it would be apprieciated

what is the part number of your SCR?

I don't think you'll have much luck, if I'm not mistaken SCRs tend to latch once they are on and won't "unlatch" until power is removed. I don't think that you can vary it's output. If you can I would love to hear how.

If you plan to control a purely resistive load like heater elements you would go with a SCR Bridge circuit as can be seen here. I don't have a pulse firing circuit handy though. Pulse firing is generally done through transformers I believe.

Is your power source AC or DC? What is its voltage?

Is the resistive load DC only? Will it tolerate pulsed DC? Is the waveform applied to the load critical? Is the 100V an average or peak value?
