Thanks for the info Spec!

I'm afraid the only other P-mosfet's I own are too lower voltage for this circuit :banghead: I don't surpose I could trouble you to find a suitable substitute on RS?? If you're even in NZ I'll take you to the local pub for a beer ;)
No probs.

The ON, SMP3003, PMOSFET looks OK (minimum order 2 off at £2.70UK each):

I will be around your place tomorrow to go for a pint.:D

Cool Thanks again for your time Spec! Quick question regarding the capacitors, namely the 22uf ceramic. I'm having difficulty finding a suitable ceramic cap. Either I have to buy 3000 of the things, or they are only rated for 50v which is too low considering the bank gets as high as 54v. I found one by TDK on RS however the price was rather absurd at $14

Any suggestions for a substitution?

Yes, I was forgetting the high voltage. 2 off 3.3uF polypropylene capacitors in parallel will do:

Sweet! I've got those parts ordered, the longest est delivery time is 5 days. So I should have something together by the end of next week for testing.

Great,

Looking forward to hearing how it all goes.:)

Howdy Spec, The parts have finally arrived, I suspect the delay for delivery would probably have something to do with the time of year. Should have that circuit put together in a day or so.

I don't know if i could trouble you to take a look at my latest post? should be a pretty simple circuit for a person of your magnitude?!?! (hope the compliments are working in my favor :p) https://www.electro-tech-online.com/threads/constant-current-circuit-for-buck-converter.149702/

Hi EF,

Look forward to hearing how it all goes.:)

You give me too much credit, but yes be pleased to analyze your circuit.

Howdy Spec, So I finally got a chance to examine the PCB board, Sure enough the PCB manufacturer has stuffed up the pinouts for the TLV. So I'll have to email them and get a fresh board made

I hate bothering you for more and more info! but could I trouble you to design that CC circuit in eagle? I included the eagle sch file in the post, so half of the schematic is done. I had a go myself but I wasn't too sure about a couple things in the hand drawn schematic and would hate to miss wire a component.

I'm going to have to send you a random gift box with some goodies from NZ to thank you. (I'll wait till after the xmas rush though)

Greetings EF,

Hmm, that is an annoyance about the PCB being wrong.

OK will do the detailed design and put the circuit in EAGLE.

No probs EF.:)
