Hi, if anyone could guide me through this question it would be extremely helpful as this is a revision question to practice on before my exam

I have a shunt wound dc motor with nameplate details of;

30kW, 200V, 205A, 1700 rev/min

The shunt field resistance is 240 ohms and the total armature resistance is 0.15 ohms. It is fitted with interpole windings.

what is the no load current of the motor?

I can tell you the stall current but the no load current depends on things like friction and wind losses.

Mike.

Yeh if you could that would be great, there are no stated losses of any kind, so I can only assume thats what was meant by it...

Thanks
