hi what is meant by a non linear resistive device?
and which one of the following is classified as one,
A) Panel mounting resistor
B) Light dependent resistor
C) present resistor
D) fixed resistor.

A Light Dependent Resistor is a non-linear resistive device. If the light falling on the device is doubled in intensity, the change in resistance may reduce from 100k to 30k. If the intensity is further doubled in intensity, the resistance may reduce to 5k. A further doubling may reduce the resistance to 300 ohms.

Normally we call a mini trim-pot that is only adjusted once as: a preset or preset trim pot or timpot
