refraction issue while sodering 44 p smd

Well-Known Member
assembling several 44 pin smd circuit boards and I think I figured out how I got my pins slightly off the mounting traces. Good ol refraction through the soldering flux.
I place a bead of flux (transparent yellow in color), place the chip in correct position, tack two corners, check alignment then complete the soldering.
After I complete the soldering , clean up board and discover the pins are only off the pads slightly. Circuit works but some of the pins need a little attention.
Just offering a heads up on soldering issues that could arrive.
Plan is to apply flux AFTER I tack two corners.
