How do I calculate the value of the reference ground resistor for a non-inverting preamp. Are there any other key considerations to look at also??

R+ is needed to ballance the bias currents you need the same impedance from ground at both inputs, the - input is effectively connected to 0V via Rf and Rin. This is why R+ should be equal to the value you would get if you connected Rf and Rin in parallel; you know, product over sum.
