Reference book suggestion needed

Hi,
I've got MPH book voucher worth RM 100 (APPROXIMATELY £ 15, USD 25). I would like to hear from everyone's suggestion what book to buy.
I want electronics book about semiconductor and transistor, but all idea are welcomed.
I just went to MPH in my place, there are two column for engineering. I saw some reference book of civil engineering too.
