Hi there,
I have a quick question. Say for example i have a rechargable battery that is rated at 1.2V and 2000maH. Now this is connected to a load that requires 0.5W. How long can this battery supply this load? Equations etc, thanks

It is probably a modern Ni-MH cell. Its capacity does not become reduced at its rated mAh.
0.5W from 1.2V is a current of 0.5W/1.2V= 417mA.
The battery cell can power the 0.5W load for about 2000mAh/417mA= 4.8 hours.
