Hi,

I'm hopping you will be able to help me. I'm using a halogen 12V AC switch mode power supply to drive one 35W bulb but I also need some DC about 0.6 Amps. I have tryed the standard rectifier configurations but either the switch mode supply gets to hot or the rectifier gets to hot. Is there something that I'm not doing as it is a switch mode supply ? If you are able to help I would realy appreciate it. Thanks in advance Mike. My email is delphi4developer@aol.com

In SMPS You can't use normal diodes. Fast recovery or schottky diodes work fine.
