When I took this radio apart this pink rubber thing that transfers the electronics to the display fell out.
What is it called and are they normally secured in by adhesive?
Thanks for help.

It's a piece of "Zebra rubber" - made up of fine alternating layers of conductive and insulating rubber, down the centre.

They are commonly used to connect the contacts on a glass LCD panel to the circuit board. There is no adhesive, the surfaces must be immaculately clean to provide a good connection - they are just held by mechanical clamping.
