Quxk electromagnet help

here's what's different between the two, you can see that the lines of force are concentrated on the coaxial magnet and spread out on the axial one.

for whatever rated voltage, + to one wire. - to the other. reversed polarity gets N and S reversed, still works as an electromagnet. not a lot to it.

sorry about that, but the actual question was that vague.
it's a single coil exactly like the axial solenoid, so there is no difference with regards to the wire.
the opposite pole piece is wrapped back around as a shell over the coil, much like a speaker magnet.
