Quick Question: Potentiometers for Balance Control

I was just wondering if a potentiometer can be used to control balance...for example.

So given the following image would I be right in assuming that if the wiper is centered than both right and left have the same voltage available?

It depends entirely on the loads on each output.

Add the resistors and apply ohms law - it's really that simple!.
