PWM to IRFP054

hi, everyone.

i need to use IRFP054 to drive DC motors. the input of the IRFP054 gate is the PWM of pic16f877a. the output of the pic can't drive the gate, so i need your advices to solve this problem.:confused::confused:
 
Use the PIC output to drive a small current NPN transistor like a 2N3904 whose collector is connected to the mosfet gate and to a resistor connected do +12V.
In this way, when the transistor is off, the gate voltage is +12V and the mosfet is in full conduction.

Pay attention that this circuit is an inverter, i.e. the mosfet is ON when the PIC output is 0.
