pulse generator for ADC0809 SOC & EOC

can i use a monostable multivibrator to generate the pulse inputs for the SOC and EOC pins...what IC shoud i use .....(or) can i design a astable multivibrator to produce a square wave and increase the toff time period alone to get something like this...

Why would you want to?, just generate the signals in the microcontroller you're using to read it (or choose a microcontroller with ADC built-in).

can i generate the ADCs ALE and SOC signals from the parallel port of the comp...if so...how shud i do that.....
