The psu for a 5.1 speaker setup for a pc was inadvertantly damaged, power prong broke. It was rated at 10v 50hz 800ma now would it be ok to use a psu of 15v 60hz 800ma as a tempory fix until i can get a replacement or would it kill the board? any thoughts?

Only 800mA for a 5.1 system?? Are you sure?
What is the total power output of your speakers?
You can't use 15V power supply instead of 10V. Doing that may damage your system.

They are rated 25w rms

The PSU at 10V 800mA can only supply an absolute maximum power of 8W - which would only give something like 5W audio output.

You should be aware that the ratings on computer speakers are even more imaginary than in-car ones

Does the PSU say 120VAC-800mA, or 10V- 9.6A?
Does it say how many VA or Watts?
Is its 10V AC or DC?
:?: :?: :?:
