i want to do a project on 'pc based electrical load control' i.e that controls home electrical appliances but am not sure of the program language that i can use and a simple circiut that does not use micro-controller. please assist

If you want to use the parallel port and MOSFETs, search for inpout32.dll. it is for Windows to interface with Basic or some varieties of "C".
