I want to do good final yr project: H/W + S/W .
Any eltrx and telecomm. related field. New Ideas wanted.
Here r few i'm thinking about.
1) Prepaid Elecricity using Smartcard.

2) Bluetooth for energymeter reading so that electricity board official doesn't have to visit each and every house. (or for any other data collection, e.g. railway track parameters measurement )

3) RF for distance measurement with alarm if specified dist. changes.

I know i havent given through details/specifications, coz i havent finalised which project to do.

Please reply even if u have whit of idea regarding this. New ideas welcome.

Anybody intrested in doing/sharing project work thru internet.

Yor second idea has merit, a bluetooth interface for taking remote readings from supply meters such as electricity,gas and water without the need to enter the premises. Taking the idea one stage further why not build a cell phone into the consumer meter? Eliminate the need for a card interface in the case of pre-paid users, readings can be made without human intervention and in the case of payment default or emergency, services may be shut off remotely, either by the supplier or a third party/device. For example during a fire or earhquake..
