programming a pic18f series

I am a student in my final year. I want to know how to program this particular pic18f452 in C . I'm using it to count rpm in vehicles.. Can u please suggest how to go about this?

C18 should work just fine.

You can learn the the basics of programming and there are so many programms such as
MpLap MicroChip & MicroC......etc.

I advise to learn those programmes and to get some excersise with examples. I'm a new beginer also in microcontroller.And I'm looking for more advance by reading and practesing.

You should start with the blinking led, everyone should. If it is too easy you will do it quickly, if too hard then you are in trouble because it hardly gets any easier.
