problem regarding l293d

ive used a l293d ic to run a single motor.....but its not working.
my question is that ive provided same voltage(5v) to the enable pin<pin 1>,Vs pin<pin 8>,and the input pin<pin 2>(for logic 1) n connected pin 7 to the grd, but it's not working.

may be this will help

z1...z4 are the inputs and the jacks J are the motor o/ps
