printer interfacing

Get the information on the dot matrix printer you are going to use & arrange for the microprocessor to send what the printer needs.

If this is a final year project, haven't you learned about looking up hardware spec's yet?

As the dot printer is the driven device, this is where you should start your project study.

You say, you have the specification for the printer, this is just the first step.

Have you drawn up a flow chart for the printer functions, so that you can write your program, using the flowchart.?

In other words, determine what signals/timings the printer requires to function correctly.
quote: give me info about the programming needed.....The flowchart will answer your question

Then you can program a suitable PIC/MCU to provide these signals/timings.

If your program dosn't work as you expect, then post it, so we can help you debug it.

There are lots of tutorials available that will give you advice regarding programming.
