Hi,

There seems to be just two Pickit 3 clones on the market, the Sure and Olimex units which are both about half the price of Microchips.

Anyone have first hand experience of them to say how effective they are and if there are any problems - apart from the crude looking case of the Olimex unit

Thanks

I am using the clone from sure electronics for over an year now, and till date its fine.
But it doesn't look as cool as the genuine one which has a transparent housing.

I have both PicKit 2 and 3 clones from Sure, both have worked perfectly since the day I received them. Between the two, I would go for the Sure Electronics one without hesitation.

not much price difference, unless you purchase microchip with add-on item
once you buy, only pk3, it is cheap enough
