While look around to see if there was a way to use a PICkit2 (or JB) as a serial port converter I found this.

PICKit2 AVRISP

I am still looking for the program to do "PICkit2 to COM" but am close. Trying to get an invite to the Sonsivri forum as there is a solution there but I suspect you can not see attachments as a guest.
 
the said site diverts you to another location where the firmware is found. how ever I have a copy downloaded. can forward
