Hi,
I am new to 16F877

When we program PIC16F877 even in High voltage programming mode then why the most of the programmers Pull down RB3 with 1K resistance
even if we do not use LVP mode . It has been written in the datasheet that in LVP RB3 should not be kept floating ,But why they follow this even for
High voltage programming??

OK if while programming we pull down RB3 to GND then can we Pull up RB3 after the device has been programmed ??

Confusion confusion every where ......

Hi, first off this started by Microchip making a mistake in the documentation. All of the chips from Microchip come with the LVP fuse set, this means the LVP is enabled, but dosen't have to be used, by setting the value on RB3, LVP is disabled.

Thanks that has sort out the problem .
