Hi there, I've tried this in my photography forums with no response.

I want to disable the auto shutoff function of a flash unit (there is no built in function to disable it) and I'm thinking it might just be as simple as opening it up and clipping a wire, but I don't know enough about electronics to figure it out myself.

Any photographers here that have tried something similiar? I could post a link to the internals of the unit if that would help.

Thanks

The auto shutoff is controlled by a microcontroller and it wouldn't be possible to disable the auto shutoff by cutting a wire.
